The new probe EPL enables the potential-free and unidimensional measurement of AC electric fields with the field meters FM6 and FM10. Accurate measurement at sleeping-places and next to the human body is possible since the measuring probe with a marginal size of 35 mm changes the field marginally. The influence of the measuring person can be eliminated, because it can be located far from the location of measurement. Contrary to the measurement of electrical fields referred to a potential, the earthing of the measuring device is not necessary. The probe EPL provides three measurement ranges at low noise and a frequency range from 16 Hz up to 2 kHz. This spectrum comprises traction power and 50 Hz mains power supply with most of its harmonic waves.
